RegaLead back from exceptional Glasstec!

Reinforcing its position as Europe’s leading supplier of decorative products for the glass and fenestration industries, RegaLead put on a show with style at this year’s Glasstec. Showcasing the very latest solutions to add value to flat glass, visitors to the show were once again impressed with what RegaLead had to offer.

Guy Hubble, Joint Managing Director of RegaLead, comments: “This year we were in Hall 10, which was definetly one of the busiest halls throughout the entire show. Our range of value-added products aimed at for the glass processing and architectural glazing sector generated a huge level of interest from around the world and we came back with enquiries from over 50 countries. North American enquiries were particularly strong this year which reinforces our decision to open our own sales and distribution site in Canada in late 2017”

“Two products really stole the show, the first of which being our newly launched MirrorCoat; a high reflectance value, solvented, mirror effect, which can be applied via either manual or automated spray. The second big hit was our new range of decorative inserts for use with EVA laminated glass. We used Glasstec as a platform to get some valuable market feedback on the proposed range which included large format screen printed patterns, high quality die sublimated imagery, PDLC “switchable” glass film, and a range of cost effective paper and fabrics for internal decorative applications. The introduction of the Decorative Inserts for laminated glass is a significant milestone in our journey from being a supplier of predominantly domestic decorative glass solutions into the architectural field”

RegaLead is back at Windoor

Global specialist in coatings and doorlites RegaLead, is back at Windoor, this time in conjunction with Schuberts Technical Services Ltd, the market leader in smart drying solutions.

Recognised as Europe’s Number 1 coatings supplier for vinyl/PVC and fiber glass/steel doors, RegaLead will not only be showcasing its range of ultra-low VOC, mix-on-demand paint solutions, but with Schubert’s support, visitors to BOOTH 507 will see ‘start to finish’ turnkey solutions for coatings and finishing, including a new range of woodstain effects, smart booth drying systems and everything required for a company to bring door spray painting in-house.

RegaLead, which last year invested more than $1,000,000 CAN in its new RegaLead (Canada) Ltd Vaughan facility, has continuously researched and developed coatings that withstand the rigours of the Canadian markets. This includes its ultra-low VOC Omnicoat paint, a 2 pack PUD formulation that incorporates nano-particle technology. Fully tested to AAMA 1506-18, it also utilises IRR pigments for Cool Colour formulations. The company believes its USP is its mix-on-demand offering, allowing customers access to over 10,000 colors in-house, minimising waste, reducing lead times for color and thus addressing one of the industry’s biggest challenges.

Sharing the Booth with RegaLead is Schubert’s Technical Services Ltd, the global leader in low energy, gas catalytic drying systems. With up to 80% lower operational costs compared with electrical equivalents, and typical drying times for fiber glass doors using either traditional solvent 2k or water-based RegaLead coatings of between 20-30 minutes, the Schuhbox® has proven itself across the globe.

Guy Hubble, RegaLead’s Joint Managing Director comments:

Both RegaLead and Schuberts are firmly committed to developing innovation within the Canadian coating and drying market. We recently appointed York Towne Supplies of Richmond Hill, ONT, as distributors for Ontario, but we’re actively seeking distributors and agents across the country to work with us on delivering world class coating solutions for the fenestration industry.

RegaLead returns to Glasstec

October 2018 will see RegaLead return to Glasstec in Dusseldorf, reinforcing its position as Europe’s leading supplier of decorative products for the glass and fenestration industries. On Stand C40 in Hall 10, RegaLead will showcase a range or products specially designed for glass, including ColorSpray painted glass solutions, new decorative EVA laminates, its famous range of glass overlays and CadBlast sandblasting solutions.

Guy Hubble, Joint Managing Director of RegaLead, comments:

“We’ve exhibited at Glasstec many times in the past – it’s always proven to be an excellent show for us. As one of the world’s biggest suppliers of decorative components and coatings for glass, people want to see us there. In 2016 Glasstec saw more than 40,000 glass industry visitors, and I expect it to at least match that this year.

In the past we’ve often focused on a single part of our product offering at Glasstec, but this year we’re broadening the appeal. One of the highlights of this year’s show will be the launch of our range of decorative EVA laminates. Offering a unique combination of decorative and functional properties, visitors will see stone, paper, marble, wood and fabric interlay options, available for companies manufacturing their own laminated glass.

We’ll also be showcasing our ever-popular ColorSpray colour and coatings system for glass in three variants: ColorSpray Original resin-based paints, our ultra-low VOC water-based ColorSpray Aqua paints and our Mirrorcoat mirror-finish glass back-painting. ColorSpray is a mix on demand system, using 16 base colourants, that can be used to create any colour and includes a wide range of effects. Our CadBlast sandblasting range of equipment and accessories, used by glass processors and artists alike will be on the stand, and of course, there’ll be the extensive range of glass overlays that we’re so well known for in the UK

We’ve spent many years investing in and developing our class-leading range of products for the glass industry, which we supply to companies in more than 100 countries around the world.” Guy concludes. “Glasstec is the industry’s key exhibition, so it provides us with an unrivalled opportunity to demonstrate all that we do to a global audience of glass professionals. We very much hope to see you there!”.

Glasstec takes place in Dusseldorf every two years and is the industry’s largest glass exhibition. This year it runs from 23rd to 26th October, with RegaLead on Stand C40 in Hall 10.

RegaLead invests in North American market

RegaLead Ltd has announced that it is committing to invest more than $1,000,000 CAN in its North American operation, with the opening of a new subsidiary, RegaLead (Canada) Limited.

The global decorative glass, door and window component manufacturer will open its new facility in Vaughan, Ontario in October, with the official launch coinciding with this year’s Windoor Canada exhibition. The operation will be headed up by Ricardo Figueredo, who has spent the last eight years as RegaLead’s Senior Export Manager.

RegaLead’s joint Managing Director Guy Hubble commented, “Over the last 30 years RegaLead has grown from a purely decorative component supplier to become a global leading force in decorative glass, doorlites and coatings for the fenestration industry. We now do business in 72 countries.

“As a reflection of the growing importance of the Canadian and U.S. markets, we’ve decided that now is the right time for direct investment in these territories and to put down physical roots. As our first directly owned overseas facility this is a significant step for us – previously we have operated solely through independent distribution networks. Ricardo has been in charge of our export operation for more than eight years, so he’s the perfect person to lead this expansion.”

Discussing his new role as head of RegaLead (Canada), Ricardo Figueredo commented, “RegaLead has long been the dominant supplier in the UK, with more than 90% of UK fibre glass and steel door manufacturers already working with us. The development of our ColorSpray Aqua water-based paint system and the broad range of decorative glass technologies we use in our new range of doorlites is helping us open up new markets. The US and Canadian markets in particular offer huge opportunities for these products – more than anywhere else in the world – making them the obvious choice for expansion.

“We’ll be showing these products at Windoor Canada, and I’m excited at the opportunity to bring our newest innovations – as well as our reputation for high quality products and great service – directly to the North American market through our new HQ in Vaughan.”

The most important colour is green!

Plastics and recycling are a hot topic at the moment. As consumers increasingly look at the impact of plastics on our environment and oceans, surely it won’t be long until attention turns to the PVCu market?

At RegaLead we take our environmental responsibility very seriously. We’ve been working for many years to accurately assess and then reduce our environmental impact. And we don’t do this merely as a box-ticking exercise, doing the minimum we have to as required by law. We consistently go above and beyond what’s required, because it’s the right thing to do.

Examples of some of our initiatives include:

ISO14001 is the global environmental standard that help companies like us minimise our environmental impact in everything that we do. Our conformity was confirmed more than four years ago and we continue to develop ways of improving our environmental impact.

Plastic spool recycling

We sell more than 15 million metres of glass overlay lead each year, all of which comes on plastic spools. Not only are those spools fully recyclable, last year more than 70% of the spools we supplied to the UK market were returned to us by our customers, cleaned and re-used. It’s a triple win: it’s environmentally responsible, it saves us some cost on sourcing new spools, and it saves out customers money as they get an 18p credit for every spool they return.

Guy Hubble, Joint Managing Director of RegaLead comments:

We’re proud to be part of the UK Pavilion at Fensterbau. Europe is a crucial market for RegaLead and we’ve exhibited at Fensterbau before – it’s an important show. This year it’ll be a pleasure to join the best of the UK window and door industry in the UK Pavilion as, between us, we demonstrate how much the UK has to offer this global industry.

At the same time, our ColorLab paint chemists and analysts have matched more than 10,000 individual colours, and are adding to that number at a rate of more than 50 per month.

The business will be headed up by Ricardo Figueredo who has been RegaLead’s Export Manager for the last 8 years.

Joint MD Guy Hubble comments: “Over the last 30 years, RegaLead has evolved through product development and acquisition from a purely decorative component supplier to become the global leading force in doorlites and coatings for the fenestration industry. A show FIT for its time…Doors & Colour

RegaLead was back at FIT with a host of new products and services, delivered via its 3 specialist divisions: Coatings, Glass and Door Products. Reflecting changing home improvement trends, the company used FIT to launch several innovations in this sector focusing on colour, aluminium doors and the continued expansion of its composite door offering.

RegaLead’s getting funky at FIT with not a hint of ‘White Gold’ in sight!

With the FIT Show just a week away RegaLead, excited to launch new paint, aluminium door and composite door solutions at this year’s show, is also counting down to Big Tuesday. Preparations already indicate that the 80’s inspired stand party is not to be missed!

Guy Hubble, Joint Managing Director of RegaLead explains: “RegaLead is no stranger to an after show party and this time we are taking inspiration from our business roots and holding a 1980’s themed event. It’s particularly fitting that ‘White Gold’ – the new BBC sitcom based on a double glazing showroom set in Essex in 1983 – will be airing on Wednesday evening. It highlights a time when our industry was all about white PVC and here we are, three decades on with hardly any White Gold in sight! Big Tuesday, with late show opening hours until 8pm, presents us with an ideal opportunity to kick back for the last couple of hours of the day and have some fun.

“Our stand has been designed with walk through access to our neighbouring exhibitor Lancashire Trade Frames and the stand will be built with a shared hospitality area so visitors to both can enjoy the evening’s plans. The bar will be open from 6pm and our Flair Bartender is guaranteed to impress the guests with bottle skills and range of cocktails. To make sure you hear your favourite 80’s classic, tweet us @RegaLead with the song name and artist and we’ll make sure we add it to the playlist. We’re sure the 80’s inspired theme will create a fun atmosphere but don’t just take my word for it – come and see for yourself on Stand E33 where anyone wearing an 80’s inspired outfit will win a prize!”
