Congratulations Glen and Sharon Bogie. While their double glazing manufacturing business, based in Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead, is closed during lockdown, Glen and Sharon have been busy creating these wonderful hearts and rainbows to support the NHS. Both their daughters are keyworkers in the NHS – one as a Community Pharmacist and the other a Registered Mental Health Nurse. They wanted to do something meaningful while they are at home, so the kitchen table has become a temporary workbench for these stunning pieces of glass art. The rainbow design was downloaded from the Support the NHS website and Glen created the more popular heart design himself.

Careful to keep within the Government guidelines, they are delivering a limited number of hearts in their local area during their daily hour of outside exercise and maintaining the rules on social distancing. They have been extremely careful to ensure each product has been sanitised and they wear gloves to minimise any risk of spreading germs.

The Rainbow has only been replicated a number of times due to the time it takes to make therefore Glen & Sharon are able to meet demand for the smaller Hearts.

Donations for the glass art are going directly to NHS Charities Together through the couple’s Just Giving page Glen and Sharon’s Rainbow and Heart appeal for NHS Charities Together and they’ve already raised £1935. There is loads more info about what they’ve done here too!

We think it is a brilliant idea. Anyone wanting to do the same in their area can get the designs. We suggest a donation to Sharon and Glen’s Just Giving page and we at RegaLead will send out the design. Sharon has even offered, for a donation to the Just Giving page, to help people talk through the setup. The more people that get involved, the more money we could raise for this superb cause.

RegaLead is pleased to be supporting the effort and if you need materials, we can ship products to support this great initiative.
